5 Ways To Level Up Your Nightly Routine

Do you have a nightly routine? Most of us do, on some level anyhow. But, do you ever wish that your nightly routine was simply better and that you could actually stick to it for more than a couple of days? A lot of people do. Having a solid nightly routine can help you fall asleep faster and actually stay asleep. A good night routine can have even more benefits depending on what you’re doing before you get your ZzZ’s.

Here are 5 awesome ways to level up your nightly routine:

1. Make Skincare a Priority

I used to neglect serums and sometimes even moisturizer before going to bed. This was leaving my skin dull and dry in the morning. Skincare should always be a priority but especially before you hit that pillow.

Your skin needs to recover at night from all the pollutants and such it has to deal with during the day. Always prioritize skincare into your nightly routine! You’ll thank yourself later.

The Algenist Genius Sleeping Collagen may be a bit on the pricier end, but it is worth every cent, especially if you have dry skin!

Comparable though, is the L’Oreal Collagen Moisture Filler. It’s also a great night cream and is less than $9!

2. Diffuse Some Essential Oils

This has made a pretty big difference in how quickly I fall asleep, how long I stay asleep, and whether or not I’m able to fall back asleep after having woken up. Since I have insomnia, I’ve realized the right essential oils can make all the difference.

I just grabbed the Esslux Pure Essential Oils, (all floral scents), and let me just say – they are AMAZING! The whole kit is only $18!

3. Read

Reading should always be a priority for a ton of great reasons but it can honestly help with better dreams for many as well. For me, reading my Kindle in bed has helped tremendously with my insomnia.

4. Nightly Stretches

Stretching is one of those things I wish I would have started doing A LOT sooner both in the morning and at night. Stretching before going to bed will help release any muscle tension that you’ve built up throughout the day, helping you sleep more soundly and comfortably.

If you don’t know where to start, try some of these gentle, nighttime stretches:

5. Unplug

Sure, it is tempting to keep scrolling away on social media while in bed but that blue light is going to keep you up and keep your mind racing making sleep more difficult. Since I’ve started “unplugging” an hour before bed, I’ve noticed that I sleep much more soundly and fall asleep more quickly.

Sleep is so Important but so is a Good Routine 🙂
