There’s a lot of fun to be had in the fall whether you’re young or old. Fall signifies the changing of the seasons – so, if you’re of a mind to, it’s a great time to set new goals, (YES, even before the New Year’s Resolutions). But, in between setting goals & leveling up, there is still fun to be had 🙂 . Some of my favorite fall activities include: horror movie nights, visiting a haunted house & sight seeing on my favorite trails.
There’s something for everyone in the fall though! And, even though I literally have my air conditioner on right now, here are some super fun fall activities:
1. Visit a Corn Maze (or a Haunted Corn Maze)
Even adults can enjoy a corn maze. They will always be a wonderful fall pastime that will truly never go out of style. Although I prefer the haunted variety of corn mazes – each their own!
2. Create a “Fall Reading List”Â
As an avid reader, I am constantly adding new books on my “to read” list that has become more of an entire notebook than a list at this point. Either way, there are always some great fall picks for books. Here are some of my recommended books for fall reading:
- All The Missing Girls – Megan Miranda
- Dr. Sleep – Stephen King
- The Wolf Gift – Anne Rice
- Sharp Objects – Gillian Flynn
- Bird Box – Josh Malerman
- Those Across the River – Christopher Buehlman
- In a Dark, Dark Wood – Ruth Ware
3. CARVE PUMPKINS!
Pictured above are myself & my fiance’s pumpkins from last year. (I’ll admit it – his are better). Nothing says fall like going to the pumpkin patch, picking out some great pumpkins and going home to carve them.
4. Do A DIY Fall Decor Project
Okay, so when I was looking for a great fall inspired wreath, all of the ones I wanted were priced at $100 or more! Forget that noise. I grabbed some supplies and put together the wreath pictured above. There are loads of Fall DIY projects on Pinterest. Check some out, or do what I did and make up your own. Some of the coolest DIY projects I’ve ever made were ones where I just winged it.
5. Take a Hike or a Bike Ride
It’s a lot more comfortable to explore a hiking trail without the heat and humidity killing your mojo. Fall is the best time to go hiking or biking. It’s the perfect temperature, (and it gets you moving which is a huge bonus if you’ve been indulging in candy).
6. Have a Horror Movie Night (or just a Movie Night)
Check out my 31 Days of Horror Movies for great horror picks. If you’re not into scary movies, then just have a movie night with friends, family or your significant other. Every season can be great for a movie night.
7. Have a Bonfire
Bonfires are the best. Grab some hot dogs or make some s’mores. Invite over some friends and have some beers around a Bonfire.
8. Visit a Brewery
During fall, the number of craft beers seems to double over night. If you like craft beer, why not take a trip to a brewery and have a tasting session? It can be a great couples activity or fun with friends.
9. Go a Concert/Game/Event
If you already don’t have it, I highly recommend downloading the “TICKETMASTER” app. You can see all upcoming concerts and events close to you. The app also makes purchasing tickets a breeze.
Other Fall Activities:
- Horseback Riding
- Have a Bowling Night with Friends
- Check out a Festival
- Bake a Pie
- Visit an outdoor Market
- Make Soup
- Dress up for Halloween
There are lots of fun things to do in the fall. Get creative, get out in nature, spend time with loved ones. There are tons of possibilities.
What are YOUR favorite fall activities? Let me know in the comments 🙂 .
Have a wonderful fall, everyone!
