Products that WILL Help you be Healthier

Being healthy is important for everyone. There is no age limit to start. Anyone can make the conscious choice to be healthier. It can be harder for one person than it is for another and we can all use items, products and routines to help us succeed.

When I finally made the choice to be healthier, (a choice that was long overdue), I knew I would need some help. We all settle into certain lifestyles and routines, (many of which can be extremely bad for us). The worst things I was doing: eating unhealthy and being sedentary. Most of the time, I felt sluggish and just “blah.” I knew I had to make a change. So, I did. 🙂

Being healthy isn’t only about your physical well-being. It also has to do with your mental and spiritual well-being. I decided to dive head first into exercise, self-care and really making my overall health a solid priority in my day-to-day life. I tried SO many products and routines that did little-to-nothing to improve my health. The silver lining is that I have found multiple products and strategies that have TRULY made a significant impact on bettering my overall health. Here are the ones that DO work:

A FitBit

Honestly, this will probably be the most beneficial item in this article, as it does so much to ensure that you’re being healthy throughout your entire day. It monitors your step count, so it’s really great for those of us who work mainly while seated. With a simple, idiot-proof app, it also monitors the following:

  • Sleep Cycle (In excellent detail)
  • Food consumption (Helps you stick to a calorie count)
  • Water Intake
  • Heart Beat (& Resting heart rate: the lower your resting heart rate – the healthier your heart is).
  • Weight

There is an option, (which I highly recommend using), that notifies you 10 minutes before the hour to ensure you’ve gotten at least 250 steps during that hour. I cannot stress enough how much of a difference this device has made in my life. When I first got it, my resting heart rate was at a whopping 90 beats per minute (very bad). Now, it’s at 80, (which is still not great but the more I exercise, the better it becomes).

It’s also helped me better my sleep, track specific workouts that I do and ensure that I’m not remaining glued to my desk – being sedentary all day long. It’s an amazing device & you can change the band whenever you want. I LOVE my FitBit! (I have the FitBit Charge 2)

Pill Organizer

This is so cheap but makes such a difference. We all need to remember to take those vitamins every single day, but it can be easy to forget. Get yourself a pill organizer and take your vitamins everyday, right after dinner. Also add in any medications you need to take daily. Here are some vitamins that I take daily, that have made me feel great:

  • A Multi-vitamin
  • Fish Oil supplements
  • Magnesium (Aids anxiety).
  • Vitamin D (Most people have a low vitamin D count).
  • B-12 (Provides an energy boost)

Water Pitcher with Infuser

This is another very cheap purchase that makes increasing the amount of water you drink a lot easier, (as it adds flavor). There are tons of different combinations you can add to your water to make it more appealing. My go-to that is always in my fridge is (Lemon, cucumber & mint leaves).

Essential Oils

Who knew that so many remedies and health advancements could be answered with these tiny little bottles of oil? I was skeptical at first, but once I started my research and began using them – the hype finally made sense. There are nearly ENDLESS uses to for essential oils.

I mentioned that mental well-being is also highly important when it comes to being healthy. Essential Oils will boost your mood and aid with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression & insomnia.

My difuser and ever-growing stockpile of essential oils has contributed greatly to my overall health and well-being. A bonus is that they make your home smell incredible. My favorites include:

  • Lavender (very calming, great to difuse or apply to pillow to ease yourself into sleep).
  • Tea Tree (TONS of uses)
  • Rose
  • Lemongrass
  • Peppermint (Helps calm nausea and gives you a mood boost).

Tea, Tea, TEA

Drink green tea daily has done wonders for my skin, among other things. Drinking tea was another great health choice I made. Here’s a more in-depth article about ALL the benefits of Green Tea.

The benefits of all the different types of tea are amazing – see Infographic above. I’ve mentioned before that Yogi Tea is my absolute favorite. I drink it every day & LOVE the taste.

Himalayan Sea Salt

Ditch the regular table salt! Himalayan sea salt is where it’s at. It doesn’t change the taste, but is far healthier for you. I also have Himalayan salt lamps that do wonders for my mood.

A Journal

This will really help your mental health and is a great stress reducer. Any journal will do and if you don’t feel like buying one –Here’s a FREE gratitude Journal Page. . Writing in a journal is a calming activity. (List journal prompt article here).

A physical planner has also helped me be more productive and stay on track during the day – again aiding in my mental health.

A Medicine Ball

It’s surprising how many excellent exercises you can get out of one of these. I have one in the corner of my living room and try to do a little light exercise with it every day. Keeping it where I can see it also motivates me to use it more. It will help get you moving & there are a lot of fun, easy workouts available for free on Youtube where you can use a medicine ball.

A Yoga Mat

Even if you only use this for light stretching, it’s worth its weight in gold. Like my medicine ball, I keep my Yoga Mat in the living room so I can easily pull it out and do some Yoga/Pilates/Stretching and other exercises during the day. These are great for everyone to have around. (Doing sit-ups, crunches or push-ups are way more comfortable using the mat than on my hardwood floors).

Adult Coloring Books

Another fantastic stress reliever & anxiety reducer. Adult coloring books are a great way to relax and calm a worried mind. And, they can be fun, too. I have quite the collection and am always looking for new ones – to make sure I have variety.

Coloring in these significantly reduces anxiety and stress, (for me and others I’ve talked to). There are tons of options. Where mental health is concerned, these can be nifty distractions.

An Air Fryer

If used correctly, a lot of foods you make can be so much healthier. (And, it’s good to make cheat days a little less of over-kill). Everything we’ve made in our Air Fryer so far has been amazing, (& we’ve tried a lot of stuff). It eliminates the overwhelming grease if you use a deep fryer but doesn’t sacrifice the taste of the foods you make. I recommend “Go Wise” brand because that’s what I have and I love it!!

A Dry Brush

I started dry-brushing as soon as I heard about it and it really does do wonders for your skin. It makes your skin smoother and overall increases the health of your skin. I have the dry brush pictured above & use it before every shower I take. It’s a great, simple way to remove dead skin & detox. Here’s an article that’s all about Dry Brushing.

Below is the EXACT dry brush that I use & I love. 🙂

Bone Broth

I LOVE bone broth and have notices a huge difference since I started consuming it regularly. It has a ton of benefits, tastes great and is affordable. This article goes into more detail about the benefits of Bone Broth.

Air Purifier

We bought our air purifier as soon as we moved into our new place and I love it. Specifically, I love the one we have but there are lots of options. The air we breath needs to be clean and, for those of us who work indoors, an air purifier is a must-have.

(It also is a good idea to have live plants in your home, as they naturally purify the air and bring in good vibes).

Being healthy is essential to living a good life. You will have less medical issues, feel a whole hell of a lot better and live longer 🙂 . We all need help when it comes to being healthier and choosing to live a healthy life. It’s a good idea to enlist a friend, family member or a significant other in your healthy life pursuit, (it’s easier with a buddy cheering you on).

You can start small and work your way up to living healthier and exercising more regularly. We all want to live our best life and be our best self, right? Being healthy makes it easier to achieve your goals. You’ll be happier also 🙂 .

I’ll always be adding more tips and products that will help you be healthier and happier. Track your progress, reward yourself for even the small victories and find ways to keep yourself motivated.

ALL of the products I’ve mentioned have significantly improved my life and I hope they can do the same for you. Keep living that healthy life and strive to be better every day.

Much Love <3

Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional but have personally used ALL products mentioned & have noticed a significant impact on my overall health, for the better.
