Ways to Naturally Cleanse Your Body

It’s almost scary to think about all the negative substances we put in our bodies and absorb in our day-to-day lives. I’m always looking for natural ways to “Detox”, or cleanse my body of all that nasty business. Cleansing and Detoxing have slowly been becoming more popular over the last couple of years – for good reason! There are many ways we can naturally cleanse our body of toxins. Here are some of the best ways, that I personally use:


Drink More Water

This is a great, simple way to aid the body’s natural detoxification process. Just drink more water.


Sweating via exercise has so MANY benefits! Naturally cleansing your body of toxins through sweat is just one of tons. If you’re used to being sedentary – start slow with exercise and build up endurance. Your body will thank you.

Dry Brushing

Do a Cleanse

There are lots of ways to do a cleanse. You can either do a DIY cleanse, (which will save you some cash), or opt to purchase a kit. I have tried both and while it is much easier to just buy a cleansing pill or powder – the DIY methods seem to have more of a positive impact on me, personally. Here are my favorite DIY methods of cleansing:

Fruit & Vegetables Only:

For a week or 5 days – eat only fruits and vegetables. I liked beginning the morning with the smoothie when I did this cleanse. I did it for 5 days and felt fantastic. I’ve heard even doing this for just 3 days has a great effect.

Sugar Detox:

This is exactly what it sounds like: Eliminate sugar from your diet. I was amazed at how awesome I felt after only doing this for TWO DAYS. Cut out anything with sugar in it, (especially soda). The most difficult part was drinking my coffee without sugar in it. But, the results were amazing and I had more energy.

3 Day All Smoothies:

When me and my guy did this, I won’t lie, the first day was rough. We only had smoothies for 3 days. After which, we both felt incredible. Find smoothies that you love and only have healthy, nutrient-rich smoothies for 3 days.

Breath Better Air

This can be as simple as adding plants to your home or purchasing an air purifier. I also love having live plants in the house. 🙂

Eat & Drink what aids in Naturally Cleansing the Body

There are lots of healthy foods that will naturally aid your body in detoxing. Here are my favorites:

  • Garlic (Stimulates the liver so it cleanses more toxins within the body + adding garlic to most dishes makes it taste better).
  • Cucumber (Mostly water based). 
  • Broccoli (A vitamin boost that helps detox the body).
  • Turmeric (A great spice for health in general, specifically helps the liver function better).
  • Green Tea 
  • Wheat Grass (The taste is something you get used to, seriously. It’s so healthy).
  • Lemons (I like to add a slice of lemon to my green tea in the afternoon).
  • Berries
  • Walnuts 

Choose Organic: Always opt for organic foods and beverages to naturally cleanse your body. 

Here are even more ways to Naturally Cleanse your Body:

  • Take a Detox bath once or twice a week.
  • Always Exfoliate your skin.
  • Sweat in a Sauna.
  • Take Apple Cider Vinegar supplements.
  • Use “Natural” Products.
  • Eat more FIBER.
  • ALWAYS pay attention to the ingredients in the foods you eat. (Eat healthier).
  • Ditch junk food!
  • Take your VITAMINS. 

Our bodies are amazing as they naturally cleanse themselves. However, we have to take measures to ensure that our bodies are doing their job. Naturally cleansing the body should be a top priority, as it will help you not only live longer, but feel better. There are a ton of supplements and herbs that can also aid in the process.
